"
... I wonder what's over there" the girl said, looking for a switch.
"
Foundt it!" The light turned on with a few flashes, and revealed an old cabinet.
"
My grandmother sure did collect all sorts of things.. Hey, what's that?"
The girl turned the key, and the two doors opened without a sound.
"
A doll? I wonder why she kept that.." The girl said to herself, while bending forward to take a closer look
"
What's up with all those small fairytales? And why is she holding a watch? It's not even working" The girl looked around, and she noticed a tiny box in the corner of her eye.
"
A box! And inside there is a key. Wonder what that's for.. Hey, maybe it's for the doll!" The girl grabbed the key, and placed the doll in an upright position.
The doll slit forward, and revealed a tiny hole in the back. "
Perfekt!" The girl whispered, when she placed the key in the hole. "
Now all I have to do is to wind her up. I wonder what she can do? Maybe she can say some stupid, old sentence.." The girl turned the key a few times...
... And took out the key. "
Nothing happens.. It's probably broken, like all the other stuff.."
The girl placed the key in the box again, but when she looked at the doll something seemed.. different.. "
Wait, I didn't turn the head, did I?" the girls whispered to herself. "
I don't like it, I'm going back..."
Just as she was about to turn around, the doll started to move. It crawled, and the girl started to scream. The doll seemed to react to the sound, crawling against her...
... and then it fell down from the edge.
Forgetting how scared she was, the girl fell on her knees, and cached the doll just before it hits the ground. Then she remembers, and places the doll on top of the cabinet.
"
What on earth are
you?" the girl whispers. "
I'm your grandmothers last wish" the doll answered. "
Iiaah!!!" The girl jumps backwards, but somehow the dolls voice is calming. "
Your grandmother wanted you to be happy. She used to tell me all about you, and show me pictures. Back then, I was just an ordinary doll. When your grandmother laid dying, she wished for me to protect you, and be by your side. Then she died, and the next thing I see is you. Sorry I scared you, but you couldn't hear me over your screaming. Thank you for finding me, and saving me." The girl didn't know what to believe, but she did feel a little sorry for the doll, and she blushed when she recalled how much she musted have screamed. "
Well, I can't deny my grandmothers last wish, so I'll take you with me." the girl said, grabbing the doll, and walked out. "
I'll come back later and see what other stories this house keeps" the girl promised herself...
